The team of AC Milan has beautiful black and red striped shirts. The golden numbers on the back are less inspiring. They are a good example of constructed angular figures, like the figures from the typeface Russell Square. Designing a complete typeface in this style is hard work, but for the AC Milan figures you only need squared paper, a pen, a ruler and ten minutes time. The result is —in my eyes— very disappointing.
The city of Milan is known as a designers' town. It must be possible to trace one creative typographer among its inhabitants who can do better than this.
